A New Beginning              February  9,    2020            2 Corinthians 4: 1-16

1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

A.  We must never give up!
B.  God has given us a task--spread the Gospel
C.  It is through His mercy that we are blessed with this task.
D.  God is telling us now, much like He told Job, it is time to gird up our loins and prepare for battle.  Job  40:7

3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

A.  Do we truly care that we may be hiding the Gospel from a man or woman that is destined for hell and eternal suffering.
B.  Do we truly wrap our head around the truth that there are those that need to hear and see Christ in us, in order to be saved.

7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

A.  We must share the treasure that God has given us.
B.  This treasure is found inside of our feeble bodies.
C.  This treasure is the Holy power of God, and it can only be limited by man.
D.  Even sinners can see that there is something special about you if God resides.

8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;  9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

A.  We must not be derailed by the storms of life.
B.  We will all face troubles and disappointments.  God will sustain. What is it today?
C.  We will all get knocked down.  God will deliver.  What binds us daily?
D.  We will all be persecuted and forsaken by man. God will never fail. Friendly Fire?

13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

A.  We must boldly share our faith.
B.  Our journey does not end at salvation.  It is a new beginning.
C.  The Church’s journey has not ended, based on our belief and willingness to share the great treasure, our new beginning is now.
D.  God has the power to fill our church body, but we must be willing.

16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

A.  We must never faint.
B.  The outward man is dying more and more each day.  We get old and tired.  End of the day!!!
C.  If we boldly seek the face of God, the inner man is being strengthened and grows spiritually daily.  We cannot grow         spiritually if we do not give God time and build that relationship.

Are we willing to let others see Jesus in our daily life?

Are we praying daily for the growth of our faith and Church?

Do we have a faith that God is not done with us individually and as a Church body?
